2007 Controversies
The year was not liberated from controversies. Kushboo was at the centre of tornado once again. A case of religious offence was filed against Kushboo for wearing slippers in front of idols of Hindu Goddesses at a film function. Mirugam director Samy was banned from directing movies for a year.
Samy had reportedly slapped actress Padmapriya for failing to complete a scene to his satisfaction in Mirugam. Actor Srikanth wedded one Vandana this year, after facing a tough time in their rapport which was full of hurling of charges and counter-charges. The wedding was earlier arranged for July, but called off at the last moment. Later, Vandana had claimed that she had already married Srikanth.
