The first one to make to the Madame Tussauds from Bollywood was the Big B, followed by Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. The latest to join this bevy of Bollywood icons to be waxed is Salman Khan. To have one’s statue installed at Madame Tussauds is considered a privilege even by Hollywood actors. Not everyone seems to think so, especially one of our most popular stars - Aamir Khan. This star, whose passion for cinema far exceeds his craze for stardom, has done the unthinkable. He has turned down an offer from Madame Tussauds to have his wax statue installed at their museum.
While addressing the media recently at the audio launch of his directorial venture Taare Zameen Par, the actor said that he had been approached by the museum but had turned down the offer saying that if his fans wanted to see him they could watch his films instead. Aamir also added that he isn’t comfortable handling too many things and that these offers don’t seem to interest him. How often have you heard a star say that? No wonder he is considered one of a kind.
