Biggies of Kollywood 2008

Biggies of Kollywood 2008

With its previous exclusive, Kollywood Today had got the hits and misses of 2008 till May. Now, we are enthralled in getting the most expected movies in forthcoming days of this month. Big flicks with big budgets and bold themes and different star casts, Interesting isn’t? Kollywood will start experiencing not just different films, but a different trend indeed of more directors turning into heroes. Come on! Cheer up yourselves before you glimpse through each and every biggie.

1. Dasavatharam – Ulaganayagan doesn’t need any intro and so does the movie. It has been a scintillating story ever since the movie was launched and so will it be till the release date. Made at the budget of more than Rs. 60 Crore, the storyline travels from 12th – 21st century where a statue plays important equally to that of Kamal Haasan.

2. Kuselan – Here comes, Superstar again before kick-starting with his mega-budget Robot directed by Shankar. A remake of Malayalam movie Katha Parayumpol starring Mamooty and Srinivasan in lead role. The original version had the lead characters playing barber role and indeed to suit his real life incidents, superstar has made it has drive and bus conductor. Directed by P. Vasu and produced by Rajni’s mentor K.Balachandar, the film is made bilingually in Tamil and Telugu. Hoorah! We think you will have Vijay, Ajith, Vikram, Surya, Vishal and all Kollywood stars dancing with superstar for a song.

3. Aegan – Shah Rukh and Ajith seems to have sharing more similarities. One reason could by the stylish, sleek looks that they can deliver easily and emoting to different situations are the same. Don and Billa has now turned into Main Hoon Naa and Aegan. Ajith plays an undercover investigative officer who joins a college as a student for a mission. Rest of the films will move in a happy enjoyable ambience with lots of college fundas and galattas. Nayanthara on the female lead role and Navdeep as Ajith’s brother and Suman performing important character.

4. Ayan – Surya with six packs has a great thunder not just for his girl fans, but also for the guys. Directed by K.V. Anand and produced by AVM Productions, the director has promised that Chennai will be depicted in different tone and color. Wow! That sounds interesting…

5. Sathyam – Hopping from usual commercial kind of roles, Vishal now takes a challenging role as an encounter specialist with Nayanthara as journalist. Rajashekar directs the movie and Kollywood Superstar Upendra dons villain role. Musical score by Harris Jayaraj will add more to the film.

6. Naan Kadavul – A movie being shot for over than 3 years has finally come to an end. You ask us how we know it? Yup! Its because Arya has shaved his beard and trimmed his long hair. Post production works have kick-started and soon will the film hit the screens. Bala known for presenting a movie with difference will follow the same sort.

7. Kandasamy – Robin Hood and Anniyan mixed together is what Kandasamy would be. But, a director goes successful if he/she makes the same kind of movies, but with a different approach for audiences. We are sure that Susi Ganesh is off that sort. Vikram with different looks and gorgeous Shriya Charan will turn the youngsters with passion of fire kindled in.

8. Saroja - Four Ordinary people meet in an ordinary day and something unexpected and extraordinary happens. Saroja reminds us of Vantage point, Babel and 21 grams. We haven’t watched the movie, but the storyline reveals of it. Venkat Prabhu directs the film with Yuvan Shankar Raja scoring music.

9. Bommalattam – Bharathiraja still is working on the project and this would be a new trend in Kollywood. Arjun and Nana Patekar playing lead roles will have the story centered on life of a filmmaker and a murder mystery.

We are sure soon after reading this, your souls must be filled with high-sprits and so we are… Keep waiting for these movies and Kollywood Today will keep you updated with each and every snippets about his movie. 12. Vijay - thalapathy pola varuma!

  13. ITS ALWAYS VIKRAM AFTER RAJINI WHO WINS THE RACE WITHOUT DOUBT BUT ALL OTHER R WASTE …… BHEEMAA ROCKS!!!!!

  14. No doubt kandhasamy rocks after dasavatharam … Thanks there is no vijay flim like kuruvi a uter flop

  15. yeahh Thala is there…

  16. Cant wait for the next Vijay Movie .. Kuruvi is the biggest blockbuster of the year 2008 .. only after the fincal collections will dasavatharam and other movies be released . Vijay has evolved as a minimum gurantee actor for the producers . Bottom line is profit for producers and the delight of the fans .
Vijay Rocks in both these areas and thats why Vijay TV awarded him the ‘ Next SUperstar ” title - all other movie buffs and Tharu Thalai fans should rather attack and question the Vijay TV and not Vijay and his fans ..

but the stats speaks for itself .. Vijay is indeed the next super star and thalai is just a tharuthalai and his fans can stick their fingers in their ass and lick em to their hearts content ..
and dont u guys dare attack Vijay or Vijay Fans - if u dare put ur contact info and we’ll come and meet u in person ..otherwise just shut the fu*k up

  17. This bladdy VJ fans are illiterate i think………they don’t know even simple manners on how to speak in a public forum…..shame for VJ fans as well as VJ… GROW UP guys…

  18. U GEEK ?? u writing a long story about vijay ??
geta life dont u have a anything better to do! go suk his dick!

Kuruvi is a flop everyone knows that!!! vijay is a crackhead with no talent doing the same types of movies again and again and again!

  19. hello ajith fans,

one of u said “After rajini its always thalais movies with most expectations”
i am a kamal fan….wherever u include rajini’s name, include kamal name also…only after rajini and kamal, your thala and that ilayathala and all comes…
i am not betraying u…i just want u all to remember kamal(he is a genius )..he gave many good(note this word “good”) movies….

all of u know “aegan” -may be remake of Main hoon na..
there is a scene in tat movie”main hoon na” -SRK chasing the Tata sumo(i think) with a cycle rickshaw..thats too much…ur thala should avoid those scenes..then there will be no difference between kuruvi(vijay flying, jumping to the bridge, overdoing) and aegan….its my kind opinion..i am sorry if anyone of u r hurt..

  20. Why isn´t Vaaranam Ayiram on the list????
