Billa faces tough time in Kerala
Billa faces tough time in Kerala
Billa has become one of the hot topics in Kerala. Billa will be releasing concurrently throughout the world except Kerala. The most powerful Film Distributor’s Association in Kerala has decided not to screen any Tamil movies for two weeks from the date of original release date. But this rule was not imposed for these films Pokkiri, Sivaji, ATM. It is not understood why such disparity is shown to Billa. According to resources FDA is scared of the media hype for this film which may result in jeopardizing the Malayalam box office.
On the other hand, Kerala has become a major territory, and if simultaneous release is not there the collections suffer as pirated VCD’s of the film flood the market. According to the grapevine FDA has imposed this two weeks window, because some of their members who were regular Tamil film distributors were driven out of the market due to spiraling prices and stiff competition. The only solution to this problem is that Tamil Nadu Film Producer’s Council should take a drastic step and solve Billa’s situation in God’s own country.
