Earlier Nambirajan, now MGR Nambi
One of the best yesteryear filmmaker Nambirajan has re-christened himself as MGR Nambi. He has been a very close friend of Superstar MGR right from his teenage. Getting to know about his curiosity in films and his insatiable passion for filmmaking, he advised him to join Adyar Film Institute in Chennai. MGR who used to visit college regularly in the evening time to watch collection of movies in College’s library used to interact a lot about the movies they watched.
He commenced his directorial venture with ‘Udhayamaagiradhu’ followed by Manjal Nila and Ungalil Oruvan. Nambirajan was so close to MGR that he has changed his name as MGR Nambi. Re-christening his name is working out whole lot of magic, since he has got offers to direct two films titled, ‘Poruthiru’ and ‘Kadalai Maadan’. Speaking about Poruthiru, he adds that the film will be made with the use of latest technology and Kadalai Maadan is a film that centers on a revolutionary who fought against British rule in the pre-independent era.
To gain more knowledge about latest technology, utilization of technical equipments and history of World Cinema, he underwent film studies at ‘National Film Technology’ in Japan.
