Indian Panorama Inaugurated at IFFI
Indian Panorama section showcasing country’s best feature and non-feature films was inaugurated on Saturday by Union information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi during the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and Chief Secretary of Goa J P Singh were also present for the inauguration held at Kala Academy venue on Saturday. The section will have 21 feature and 15 non-feature films. Malayalam feature film Ore Kadal (the sea within) directed by Shyama Prasad was the inaugural film in the feature film section while Bagher Bachcha (the tiger cub), a Bengali film directed by Bishnu Deb Halder was in the non-feature film section.
Ore Kadal is a 123 minutes coloured drama-cum-family movie casting Mammootty playing the pilot role opposite actress Meera Jasmine. The film is a blend of values and diverse experiences of life with some hidden aspects of romance. The 24 minutes Bengali movie is a story about a 10-year young boy who struggles to survive and finding own way at a metro station in Humdrum, Kolkata.
