Lyricist turns actor now
Before and now, Tamil cinema has witnessed many actors turning into directors, directors into actors and choreographers as directors. Now it is time for a prominent lyricist to turn into actor and that’s a dawn of new era, isn’t?
Pa. Vijay who has penned lyrics for more than 1500 songs now turns an actor for the movie titled Thai Kaviyam a Tamil translation of Russian novelist Kargy’s work ‘The Mother’ and it was chief minister M.Karunanidhi who translated this novel with the title of Thai Kaviyam.
Speaking to the occasion to Kollywood Today.com, Pa. Vijay said that first he felt more reluctant about acting and it is due to his colleague’s encouragement he has come up with this effort. The film would be directed by Bali Srirangam, Vidhyasagar is the music director and the other cast and crew are not yet announced. Pa. Vijay began his career as lyricist under the mentoring of K.Bhagyaraj and it was he who announced the launch of the movie on Friday.
Other directors like Ameer, Subramaniam Siva, Vishnu Vardhan and Moorthy were present during the occasion and congratulated the lyricist.
According to the sources the movie would be launched on 20th October at the residence of chief minister M.Karunanidhi.
