Manikandan, cameraman of OM SHANTHI OM has shot Surya’s new-fangled commercial for Aircel which was released on all Tamil channels and select movie houses on Thursday. There is nothing new in Surya doing yet another commercial, but what is distinctive about this one-minute commercial is he is doing nine avatars in it. The ad captures the look-alikes of actor Surya in every person that the actor encounters during the course of his typical work day.
That is, all the characters he encounters are dressed up with details of the particular role they play. Surya plays gardener, security guard, traffic constable, cool dude, three set assistants, director and the star Surya.
