Pa. Vijay’s tribute to his lost friend ‘Gnyabagangal’
In this contemporary era where the personalities of film industry forget their friends and those who helped them to reach the farthest heights, Pa. Vijay goes much unparalleled. ‘Gnyabagangal’ isn’t just a film that marks the debut of Vijay as an actor, but he has a deep secret revealed now. Getting to speak about this during the trailer release of ‘Gnyabagangal’, he said, “As I headed to Chennai seeking for chance in film industry, I stayed in a mansion at Choolaimedu and right next to my room was Kathiravan. A communist by thought, he was an excellent lyricist who never got an opportunity in film industry due to his rigidness to the communism.
He was in love with a Hindi speaking girl and unfortunately, she got married to another person their parents arranged. Much disappointed with his life and career, he returned back to his hometown and nearly after a year, I got a message that he died off due to prolonged illness. As I happened to turn down the pages of his personal diary, I got to know about his own dreams of love he had imagined. I felt quite frustrated for not helping my friend and I making this film as a token of gratitude for this friend.”
