Commencing has a stupendous directorial with Chittiram Pesudhadi, Mysskin makes it up for our expectations delivering a good flick. The most absolute thing I could sense while watching Anjathey was the tremendous rapport shared by the duo Director Mysskin- Actor Narain.
Narain has it all proving himself with his emote at different situations and he has to be apprized for it. If you enter theatres hoping that Vijayalakshmi as in her previous film Chennai 600028 has nothing to do, please don’t ever say that, for she coiffures an extraordinary performance… Hats off to Prasanna, for presenting himself with a vulnerable character and he’s on some plans to grab the best in film industry. With many actors of his age group trying to reach out for the image of mass heroes, this chap has ideas of different dimension. Might be is the fact that is he trying to take up the pathway of his mentor Prakash Raj? Well, that’s not what we have to discuss here.
Now let me take you for a quick drive on the synopsis and then take on with plus and minuses of it..
“How do you feel when you meet your friend after a longtime at a gun point situation?” And if you can imagine this situation, we are sure you are the first to like this movie. Anjathey is a defying flick that centers on two youngsters Sathya (Narain) and Kiruba (debutant Ajmal), close friends over for a long time. Being the sons of police constables and residing in the same colony is the only similarities they for their attitudes and aims in life differ a lot. Sathya has nothing great to dream about his future, but has a concern to lead a happy life every day. While in contrast is his friend Kiruba aiming with all his might for the position of Sub- Inspector. But its fate that changes their course of life. Sathya though not much interested, turns into a SI by short-cut methods while Kiruba is a great loser.
Now this exposes Kiruba to darker side of his life for his family members have a different attitudes towards him and he feels he has lost everything. Sathya now has to handle the unmanageable task of trapping a group of kidnappers who abduct young girls and kill them for money. And for the most surprising part, Mysskin instead going for actors who play this role has opted good looking chap Prasanna to play lead baddie in the film. Also its more interesting to see Pandiarajan taking on with a different role of a team member with Prasanna.
While Naren working earnestly to take hold of these baddies, Ajmal gets greatly influenced by Prasanna who throws bundles of money on him for an easy work he does. They together kidnap the young girls out of which ladylove of Sathya, Vijayalakshmi too is Prasanna’s victim…
Now would it look when your close friend stands straight opposite on, with different plans for you and Sathya has to face Ajmal in the same situations…
This interesting storyline has been narrated with a powerfully crafted screenplay by Mysskin…
As mentioned earlier, getting on with characters everyone does justice to their roles including Ponvannan who plays the role of an investigative officer, Livingston, M.S. Bhaskar and many others…
But if you ask me to point out negative traits of this flick, though not much, there are few things that makes dripped with your interest. Pandiarajan does a good job what again trying to make some comedy lines doesn’t look sensible…
Cinematography by Mahesh Muthusamy makes your eyes brimmed with likeliness towards the film and it feels like his working style has an inspiration from veteran ace cinematographer P.C. Sriram. Sundar C Babu has different genres of musical scores, among which couple of songs is a sure hit. Getting you more involved to the film would be Sundar’s enchanting background musical score…
As a whole, Anjathey is a great virtuous movie that has a brilliant work by the auteur and mind-blowing performance by all.
Bottom-line : Auteur proves it again
Verdict: Please don’t miss it…

Super film…
