Come on viewers, with none of the films making it big for this year, here comes a fantasy-comedy genre from Simbhu Devan who commenced his directorial venture with Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi. On the tracks of same genre of comedy, the director seems to have blended with fantasy that is sure to be loved by the children. In particular, the computer generated graphics is sure to make a great score among the children for this summer reason. And for the rest of the audiences, it is a good message conveyed through satirical theme.
An extraordinary factor that makes the film so interesting is that you don’t see any heroism depicted on the characters. Santhanam, Ganja Karuppu and Prakash Raj have completely done something out of their usual performance. And you know something? Prakash Raj is simply superb with his naturalistic execution of his skills.
But Simbhudevan has grabbed the main theme from yesteryear Hollywood flick Bruce Almighty starring Jim Carrey and Morgan Freeman. Both these films are centered on the same sort of problems faced by individuals and Simbhu Devan has cleverly added some changes by bringing social consciousness with a good message.
The film opens with two youngsters Rasu (Santhanam) and Mokka (Ganja Karuppu) resided at an old mansion in Thiruvelikeni. Unemployed over for a long period of time, they are more frustrated with God when they are insulted and degraded in the society. The moment they scold in most filthy words, God (Prakash Raj) is there standing right before them and they feel their adrenaline rising to the peak.
Sooner, God convinces them saying that he would stay along with them, understand their problem and provide solution for them, if and only he was the cause behind it. But they are instructed not to tell anyone that it is God, who is with them.
Rasu and Mokka together take God for a ride of daily schedule that they have been following over for a long time. Eventually, journey with God lets them know that his power remains in a small device like substance called Galaxy.
These guys unable to bear the pain of life come up with a daring effort of stealing the galaxy that God owns and you know what is happen next? God turns into a lay man loosing his power while Mokka and Rasu are Gods of universe now…
The film’s storyline is so impressive that it adds more message to the audiences that each and everything that is obtained without hard work doesn’t remain permanently with you. Simbhu Devan take delight in himself for not stressing more on to his part and he has delivered a simple and best work. Santhanam, changing his body language, voice modulation and trimmed looks more apt with the role that he has donned. But in contrast, Ganja Karuppu has no change and his naturalistic act gets him more credits. Especially, his way of pronouncing certain English terms go more similar in real life too and in this flick, the place where he utters ‘Berna-sonic’ for ‘Panasonic’ is really a great on the humor part.
Prakash Raj, a man who has donned all sort of role and now on the shoes of God, he does a beautiful presentation. His polite looks and assertive speech and enchanting behavior add to enhancement of his characterization.
Vidhyasagar’s music doesn’t help much for the film and except a song ‘Kadhali Kadhali’, none of them are more impressive. With no more budget spent on the cast and crew, Shankar has lavishly thrown more money out of his pockets for computer generated graphics. But even they aren’t more appealing and it’s a normal stuff that we have already seen in many of yesteryear films.
Valuating the film on whole, although an old concept has been sneaked in, message is something provocative for all. Well, for children, it’s a great treat for summer season if they aren’t interested in watching Indian Premiere League. And this movie is something, you will feel worthy watching for the amount you have paid to get the tickets
Bottom - Line: Enjoy as you watch
Verdict: A cool entertainment to delight you….
