The simple story line with enthuastic Youth’s made the film Super Hit, in fact the early exist of Indian Team from the world cup had miss-leaded the concept of cricket in India, but in the given situation debutant director Venkat Prabu taken the responsibility on his shoulder and proved himself as a efficient director.
There is no second thought in making of Chennai-600028, gully cricket and mindset of today’s young generation about the cricket was major hub of the story. Friendship-Comedy-Sentiment-Street fight-Love alliance once again grouped in this film. Lot many new faces was the major strength of the film, especially Radio Mirchi fame R J Shiva had headed Chennai 600028 team.
As usual the film starts by introducing all the heroes to the audience, and story start to grasp the audience. There was a two leading team which constantly engaged in fighting over the cricket match. Royapuram Rockers is the team which was consequently winning for past four years. In order to grab the title another team which is striving to get championship is R.A Puram Sharks. The story starts with Sharks team which compromise of 11 cricket legends who believes Cricket is there religion, Karthik (Shiva) leads the Shark team along with team mates Aravind (Aravind Akash), Reghu (Jai) and Palani, the team was coached by barber (llavarasan).
The happy and prosperous team was wrecked due to misunderstanding between the team colleagues because of Shiva affaire with Palani’s sister Selvi (Vijayalakshmi) in the other end Karthik’s love with high profile girl (Christina) this Love affairs fuel hated feeling among the team and it lacks credibility to defend the Cup. So the story coined how the departed team united to challenge the Rockers team.
The screenplay was well planned by director Venkat Prabu; the taste of Cricketers was quite well noticed by director made the audience cool. Usage of Language and comedy track was another plus for this film.
Yuvan’s eight different music mix crippled Chennai audiences, “Chalsa Panungada” adds flavor to the film, and romantic kisser “Yaro” was placed sexy. Besides camera work by Sathi Saravanan is yet another matrix for this film.
At the end, the film will work among the youngster in city sides, those who familiar with gullie cricket will enjoy Chennai-600028. At the most, the director has taken the film with youngsters in the mind, so there is no room for others, stunt, Violence which are tightly packed in the film which makes the audience to feel better. Minus, we can say too lengthy screenplay and many heroes makes the film with little confusion.
