Review - Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram

Review - Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram

Cast : Dhanush, Meera Jasmine, Archana, Livingstone and Others
Producer : Kr.Yogesh
Director : Suresh Krishna
Music : Guru Kiran

Again Dhanush failed to prove himself as an action hero in Parattai. Keeping the mother sentiment, director Suresh Krishna narrated the whole notion of the film Parattai…. But people expectation is totally different because after Thiruvilayadal Arambum, Dhanush has been accepted by crowd as a loveable boy. But, again this film pushed Dhanush to doom end, and it became unacceptable to audience that Dhanush in action sequence in addition Meera Jasmine’s poor Performance and Archana mother sentiment makes the film even bore.

70’s and 80’s story Parattai… became very typical to digest for 21st century crowd. Yes, Mother sentiment don’t required any introduction but director had emphasized more on Mother-Son sentiment which makes the film Utter waste. And so many villain’s makes the film even more confusion and boring.

In Kanada, director framed Jogi in a good manner, but in Remake version in Tamil, Director seems to lost his credibility while framing the film. Totally director placed the film in two distinct groups firstly, Mother-Son sentiment, secondly Gang wars and underworld happenings.

In opening frame, Azhagu Sundaram (Dhanush) is a freak youth moving around in the village with his friends and he is only son for his mother( Archana) who spend sexclusive for Azagu, in the meantime Azhagu’s father(Livingstone) expired due to some reason. Then Azhagu coming Chennai to earn money at the same time sequence of incident pushes honest guy Azhagu to take dagger. And Dhanush’s became full-fledged Rowdy activities were he fights and eliminates odd peoples like Deva (Adithya), Kesavan (Kadhal Dhadapani) & Suri (Aryan), at the meantime in search of his beloved son Meenakshi (Archana) coming to Chennai without knowing his Son’s address. In this occasion Shwetha (Meera Jasmine) helps Meenakshi in search of Azhgu who was called as Parattai in Chennai.

And rest of the story revolves around question tags, whether Meenakshi meets his son or not and where Azhagu meets his mother was major crux of the story. It’s really heart touching climax makes every one to cry.

In order to shake a leg with hero, Meera Jasmine was imported otherwise there is no need for Meera Jasmine. Apart from this Meera Jasmine over reacting scenes does not matched with the story line. And music scored by Guru Kiran didn’t creates any impact on screenplay.

The super hit film Jogi ran about 500 days in Kannada, by keeping in this mind Rajnikanth recommended his son-in-law Dhanush to feature in such a role. In fact Dhanush too, taken some valuable efforts like growing his hair and beard but he fails to recognize the reality that he is too thin to stand up against four odd heroes. So hereafter Dhanush have to be careful in choosing his character with reality bites.

Verdict : Below Average
