Review - Santhosh Subramaniam

Music: Devi Sri Prasad

Brother duo Jeyam Ravi and Raja know for remaking successful Telugu movies have continued to make it for Santhosh Subramaniam. A remake of Bommarillu isn’t just the words to describe it and you know something, Director Raja has made the exact replica of Telugu version to such an extent that even the costumes and its colors are the same. But that doesn’t matter when it comes to delighting the audiences with a great entertainer.

As of in general, this movie can be enjoyed by together with the family relaxing in your free time. The first thing that makes me sing appraisal of Raja is that he has never opted to remake the movies that is a senseless action packed thriller for more than 150mins. Santhosh Subramaniam as the title suggests, it is a movie centering on the relationship between father and son. Prakash Raj and Jayam Ravi playing the roles of father-son have breathed life on the characters…

Well, the one stealing the show over is Genelia who does an enchanting performance with the role of Hasini. Appearing on the role of a bubbly girl, she definitely gets your attention with the looks of girl-to-next-door.

The story of Santhosh Subramaniam goes this way…

Santhosh (Jayam Ravi), born in a rich family has everything he wants but for more than he requires. Yup! His father Subramaniam (Prakash Raj) wants his son to be elated all the time and thus gives him more than he asks for and that happens to be the main problem of Santhosh. Fine! The problem extends to such a level that Subramaniam has the bride of his choice for his son. However, despites the situation having the crossed the level of engagement, Santhosh searches for the girl of his choice and there he finds Hasini (Genelia).

With love blooming in between them, situation remains cool until Subramaniam gets to know about it and rest of the story deals with how the young pair do make up for their parents’ permission..

Devi Sri Prasad’s musical score is the same as in the original version of Bommarillu. But cinematography and editing together adds more life to visual quality.

There is nothing to state on the negative traits of the movie and it’s a typical entertainer for all the centres. Santhosh Subramaniam – a flick sans vulgarism, obscenity and profanity is a must watch movie for the summer vacation.

Bottom - Line: Delighting the masses

Verdict: Worth watching…
