Again a village oriented movie was in track, there is a human cry in kollywood that Tamil cinema becoming westernized but movie like Thagapansamy proved the world classical Tamil movie still lingers. Debutant director Shivashanmugham narrated the whole movie and tries to bring back problem in village and director clearly focused the situation.
The film began with Prashant (Kadhirvel) a well-wisher; try to solve the problem of water scarcity faced by his village. His village reels under drought due to continues failure of monsoon. So Kadhirvel try to manipulate the water problem by digging the well etc, but every thing fails. Then he meets Shanmugham (Mahadevan), a water-divining expert to dig a well in the village, Shanmugham along with his wife and daughter Marikozhundhu (Pooja) coming to village to complete the project, mean time Marikozhundhu fall in love with Kadhirvel. But sudden death of Shanmugham, and people felt discouraging.
Prashant and Village people decide to live the village unanimously to search of live hood in order to survival. And they take job in Rajasthan farm but they slowly realized that they have been taken has bonded laborer , knowing the weak spot situation landlord Thakur Dass (Vincent Asokan) try to exploit the village people. Swapna (Namitha) Thakur’s sister was impressed by his heroic action and she fell in love with Kadhirvel. The rest is how Kadhirvel free the people from cruel landlord and movie end with Kadhirvel marriage with Marikozhundhu.
Srikanth Deva’s music really lingers in the hears of viewers, and Sridhar’s camera captured the beauty of Rajasthan. Really the movie was well placed by director in right time.
